Do I have to be an Australian Citizen to gain employment at Target?
If you are not an Australian or New Zealand permanent resident or citizen, you will need to provide proof of your residency status (Visa and Passport) if you are successful through the interview process. Once your work right status has been confirmed through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Target may be able to roster you appropriately in line with the working conditions on your Visa type.
What is the minimum age to be considered for employment at Target?
The Child Employment Legislation outlines the conditions and minimum age individuals can be considered for employment. This varies by State. For further information please contact the relevant government body for the legislative requirement in your area.
I would like to submit my application for a customer service position in one of your stores, how do I do this?
If you are interested in a customer service position in one of our stores, you will need to download the Employment Application Form from our website, fill in the details, attach a copy of your resume and take it directly to the store that you are seeking employment with. Please note, emailed resumes and applications for customer service positions cannot be accepted.
I am having difficulty downloading the Employment Application Form from the website, what can I do?
If you are having issues downloading the Employment Application Form, please email employment@target.com.au with your details and we will email or post you a copy.
I have submitted an Employment Application Form to the store of my choice, how long would my application be kept for?
Your application will be kept on file for 3 months. After this time, if you have not heard from us, you are welcome to resubmit a new application.
Can I find out on the progress of my application for a customer service position?
If you have applied for a customer service position, you will either be contacted to attend an interview or if you do not hear from us it means we received a large amount of applications and we do not currently have an opportunity to accommodate all applications. If you have not had a response in 3 months or more and you are still interested in being considered for a position, you are welcome to resubmit a new application directly to the store of your choice. Please retain the last page of the Employment Application Form for process details.
I would like to submit my application for a Management position in one of your stores how do I do this?
If you are applying for a position advertised or if you would like to express interest in a management position, please email your resume and cover letter to the nominated email address within your State.
Can I find out on the progress of my application for a Management position?
If you have applied for a specific advertised position, we will endeavor to be in contact with you once your application has been reviewed.
If your application is not in response to an advertised position, the Recruitment Team will attempt to review your application and may, subject to the availability of positions, contact you to discuss your application further.
If you have not received a specific response to your application within 3 months, please feel free to re-apply via our website.
What is your selection process?
Advertised positions are displayed on our website. Once an application has been received, you may be phoned to attend a face-to-face interview, and depending on the position, you may be called back for a second interview. Prior to any offers of employment at Target, reference checks are carried out and possibly a medical examination.
I have submitted my application to the Geelong Support Office in advance for a new store opening, however I have just seen it advertised. Do I need to re-apply?
You do not need to resubmit your application, as submitted applications to the Geelong Support Office will be forwarded to the hiring manager of the new store.

Does Target provide work experience programs?
Target provides work experience and placement programs to school, T.A.F.E and university students who would like to pursue a career in one of the various departments at the Geelong Support Office located in Geelong Victoria or at one of our stores across Australia. Please contact the store of your choice or Human Resources at the Geelong Support Office to find out more details of the program.
